Tidewater Utilities, Inc., (Tidewater), together with its wholly-owned subsidiary, Southern Shores, provides water services to approximately 32,700 customers for domestic, commercial and fire protection purposes in over 300 residential communities and commercial establishments in New Castle, Kent and Sussex Counties, Delaware.

Established in 1964, Tidewater operates a combination of wells and water plants throughout its service area, which extends from lower New Castle County in the north of Delaware to Sussex County near the state's southern border with Maryland. Headquartered in Dover, DE, Tidewater Utilities is the largest private water supplier south of the Chesapeake & Delaware Canal.

The Company works with landowners and developers to find solutions to their water and wastewater needs and is well-positioned to support the rapidly developing growth that is occurring in Southern Delaware. Tidewater's rates and financial matters are regulated by the Delaware Public Service Commission (PSC). Its service areas, water pumpage, well permits, production limits, etc. are regulated by the Delaware Department of Natural Resources & Environmental Control (DNREC). The company's operations are also overseen by the Delaware Health and Social Services (DHSS), Division of Public Health, and other government agencies.
Through Tidewater's subsidiary, White Marsh Environmental Systems, Inc., Tidewater is able to provide water and wastewater contract operations services. Tidewater Environmental Services, Inc. is an affiliated company providing regulated wastewater utility services to developers and customers.
Southern Shores Water Company LLC
Southern Shores primarily provides water service to approximately 2008
customers in Sea Colony Development in Sussex County, Delaware. The system
is interconnected with the Bethany Bay District of Tidewater Utilities, Inc.
to supplement demand for water as needed. Water supplied to Sea Colony
customers is derived solely from groundwater from an Aquifer known as the
Manokin Formation.
