Company Profile
Middlesex Water Company, (NASDAQ:MSEX) established in 1897, provides a full
range of regulated and non-regulated water, wastewater utility and related services
in parts of New Jersey and Delaware. The company engages in collecting, treating, distributing and selling water for
domestic, commercial, municipal, industrial and fire protection purposes. Services include:

- Wastewater Collection and Treatment
- Design/Build/Ownership and Operation of Assets
- Public/Private Partnerships
- Utility Billing and Collections

Over the years, Middlesex Water has grown from a single water utility to ten distinct operating units meeting a full
range of residential, commercial, industrial and municipal water and wastewater needs.

Middlesex System
Retail Customers
The Middlesex System provides water services to about 59,800 retail customers, primarily in eastern Middlesex
County, New Jersey. Areas served on a retail basis include: Woodbridge, Carteret, South Amboy, Metuchen, parts of
Edison, and parts of South Plainfield. These retail customers include a mix of residential customers, large industrial
concerns, commercial and light industrial facilities. Water is treated, stored and distributed for residential, commercial,
industrial and fire prevention purposes.
Contract Customers
The Middlesex System also provides water under wholesale contracts to Rahway, Edison, Highland Park, Sayreville
and the Old Bridge and Marlboro Township Municipal Utilities Authorities. Water treatment and pumping services are
provided to East Brunswick under contract. Contract customers of the Middlesex System comprise an area of about
146 square miles. Contract sales to Edison, Sayreville, Old Bridge and Marlboro are supplemental to the existing water
systems of these customers. The Middlesex System also provides treated surface water under long-term agreements
to East Brunswick, Marlboro, Old Bridge and Sayreville.
Bayview Water System
Middlesex Water also provides water service to approximately 300 customers in Downe Township in Cumberland
County, NJ. This system, known as the Bayview System is not physically interconnected with the Middlesex system.
Pinelands Water Company
Pinelands Water provides water services to approximately 2,500 residential customers in Burlington County, New
Jersey. Pinelands Water is not physically interconnected with the Middlesex System.
Pinelands Wastewater Company
Pinelands Wastewater provides wastewater services to approximately 2,500 primarily residential retail customers.
Under contract, it also services one municipal wastewater system in Burlington County, New Jersey with about 200
residential customers.
Tidewater Utilities, Inc.
Tidewater, together with its wholly-owned subsidiary, Southern Shores, provides water services to approximately
33,200 customers for domestic, commercial and fire protection purposes in over 300 separate community water
systems in New Castle, Kent and Sussex Counties, Delaware.
Tidewater Environmental Services, Inc.
Tidewater Environmental Services, Inc. provides wastewater services to approximately 1,900 residential
customers in Delaware.
Twin Lakes Utilities, Inc.
Twin Lakes Utilities, Inc. provides water services to approximately 120 customers in Shohola, PA.
Utility Service Affiliates (Perth Amboy) Inc. (USA-PA)
USA-PA operates the City of Perth Amboy, NJ's water and wastewater systems under a 20-year agreement, which
expires in 2018. USA-PA serves approximately 20,000 customers, most of whom are served by both the water and
wastewater systems.
Utility Service Affiliates Inc.
Utility Service Affiliates, Inc. (USA) provides residential customers a service line maintenance program called
LineCare℠. LineCare℠ is an affordable maintenance program that covers all parts, material and labor required to repair
or replace specific elements of the customer's water service line or sewer line.
White Marsh Environmental Systems, Inc.
White Marsh, operates water and wastewater systems under contact for approximately 7,200 residential customers.
